Testimonials
Now more than ever, BPIE’s leadership and independent expertise is indispensable. BPIE has, and will continue to ensure that buildings are a key priority across policy towards full decarbonisation of our energy systems, based on sound, fact-based data analysis.
BPIE has succeeded in building a strong reputation, increasing its impact and reach over the years, gaining influence with decision-makers across Europe and solidifying its stakeholder network. I am proud to support BPIE as a Board member and I am eager to see how BPIE will navigate the renovation wave for the 2020 decade!
BPIE enables global industry and political leaders to stay ahead of the curve in the building sector and provides insights into the increasingly closer interlinkages between the built environment and energy, transport and communications. They are all linked to the mitigation and adaptation to the climate change.
Buildings can become answers to the global energy supply questions. What is needed is a global movement that decides to change the ‘buildings paradigm’. It is time for buildings to play a major role in their ecosystem towards developing ecologically positive built environments.
BPIE aims to instigate and accelerate change by supporting and mobilising those who have an economic and societal stake in improving the energy performance of buildings. To dramatically reduce the climate footprint of the built environment and adapt to climate change, BPIE will use and continuously improve its wide-ranging expertise and extensive network. In doing so, it will stand out as a leader and key player in the energy policy debate in Europe.
As the source of 36% of CO2 emissions, achieving a zero-carbon built environment is a crucial part of any strategy to tackle climate change. Renovation rates will need to more than double if we are to succeed, and yet we will need to move carefully as our homes are at the heart of our wellbeing and our cultural identities.
